Matthew Michael House was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota on April 22, 1978 to Mike and Kathy House now of Sun City, AZ (previously Maple Plain, MN). He has one older sister, Angela House Burgess of Minneapolis, MN.

He was baptized at Central Lutheran Church in 1978 and was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. He grew up in Maple Plain and graduated from Orono High school in 1996.

Matt was a good-natured child with a constant grin on his face.

He enjoyed playing outside with his neighborhood friends, running through the creek and the cornfield, playing baseball and night games, and riding bike around the block, coming home only when the House family dinner bell rang.

He enjoyed many summer days and nights picnicking and playing with his parents and sister at Lake Independence beach. He also loved family camping trips, which were spent with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Matt was very close with his cousins on both sides of the family. They enjoyed playing on the Watson family farm, golfing, general horsing around and sometimes getting into trouble.

Matthew attended Winona State University for 2 years and was in the Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity.

Favorite music: Country

His cousin, David Krull, introduced him to Mary Gnemi at the Steele County Fair in August 2001 and it was love at first sight.

Matthew proposed to Mary on July 12, 2002 and they moved to Plano, Texas the next week for Mary's new 4th grade position at Brinker Elementary in Plano. Matthew worked for a year at Gulledge Elementary in Plano and then went back to college. They attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Plano 2002-2004 where Pastor Jeff was the Lead Pastor and who performed Matt's adult baptism. Matt also attended Bent Tree Bible in Carrollton from 2004-2005.

He graduated from University of North Texas with a major in accounting in December 2005. While in school at UNT, he enjoyed working for his dear cousin, Bill Whittington at Jackson Hewitt.

Matt married Mary Gnemi on July 19, 2003 in Owatonna, MN. They have three children, Anthony (11), Benjamin (8) and Lilly (6). His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, attending the children's activities and golfing.

He is the son-in-law of Rick and Deb Gnemi who will always cherish the love they shared with Matt.

While living in Owatonna from December 2005 to March 2015 he was actively involved at Bethel Baptist Church.

He worked as a CPA at Larson Allen in Owatonna from January 2006 to March 2011.

He worked at Wenger Corporation in Owatonna as Manager of Finance from 2011 to 2015 .

Matt was diagnosed with glioblastoma on October 8, 2016. Throughout his illness, regardless of how sick he may have felt, he was careful to express his appreciation to every person who served him, in any capacity.

Matt will be remembered as a patient, loving, kind, good-humored, gracious, gentle, thoughtful, grateful and God-honoring man. He was a born again Christian, amazing husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother and friend. He is with his Lord and Savior.
