Marie Elizabeth Ice passed from this life on to her eternal home on September 26, 2017 at her home in Frisco, Texas. Marie was born on February 4, 1923 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to her parents, Clarence E Nolen and Lora Black Nolen. She was the second of six children growing up in Wetumka. Marie attended Wetumka High School. She worked as a secretary for the Grayson County College. Marie also served as a "Rosie the Riveter" for a short time during World War II until they learned that she could type so she was pulled...

Marie Elizabeth Ice passed from this life on to her eternal home on September 26, 2017 at her home in Frisco, Texas. Marie was born on February 4, 1923 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to her parents, Clarence E Nolen and Lora Black Nolen. She was the second of six children growing up in Wetumka. Marie attended Wetumka High School. She worked as a secretary for the Grayson County College. Marie also served as a "Rosie the Riveter" for a short time during World War II until they learned that she could type so she was pulled off the line and into the office.

Marie married her sweetheart, Richard W. Ice and they were inseparable for 65 years.

Family and friends recall Marie as a wonderful, patient and loving mother. She was a very sweet, caring and hospitable person that drew others to her. Marie was known as a "sweet, proper Southern Lady", famous for the best ever pie crust ever made and her wonderful peanut butter cookies. Marie was an avid fan of the University of Oklahoma football program.

Marie loved sewing, traveling and all kinds of dancing especially square dancing. Her favorite performer was always Perry Como. Marie was a member of the Christian Church where she often played the piano.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lora Nolen; her brothers, Tommy Nolen, Dale Nolen and Glen Nolen; and her sister, Delia Haraway. Her legacy will continue on through her daughter, Judy Thomas and her husband Mike; her son, Mike Ice and his wife, Anne; her sister, Susie Winters and her husband, Jimmy. The pride of her life was her grandchildren; Traci Bell and her husband, Joe; Teri Dickerson and her husband, Jeff; Nathan Ice and his wife Suzanna, Natalie and her husband, Brad; her great-grandchildren, Duncan Hadley, Faith Bell, Joey Bell, Neeli Dickerson, Rachel Dickerson, and Gillian Dickerson; her great-great-grandchildren, Brinlee Marcos, Collin Ice, Caleb Ice, Evan Autrey, Giannna Dorethy, Cade Dorethy, and Madison Dorethy.

Marie was loved while she was here with us on earth, and we will continue to love her through time and all eternity.
